 Unreal Tournament 3 (on notebooks) - Videos and Pics

    People have been wondering, so....

    I'll start. :)

    My notebook:
    Nvidia 7800GTX 256MB GDDR3 @ 1920x1200 (Medium Settings)

    Framerate: 29-43+
    GPU Temp: 75-85C degrees

(you will see in the quick videos and the pics with Rivatuner OSD)

:D Vehicle Capture the Flag (VCTF) - Suspense :D

As you can see, UT3 is amazingly well-coded (as compared to some other next-gen FPS's) and well-optimized... it works well with my hardware configuration, as well as many older gaming configs. My 1.5 year old notebook still plays it fine. And the DirectX9 still looks amazing.

I will definitely want to get the Retail of this game.

:D I want to make a NBR Clan for this game. Watcha think? :D

:) Please post your pics and/or vids with specs of your system. :)

    Game On People,

Thanks for uploading those videos Gophn, D900K looks great Btw :D . I loved UT 2004, I know this is gonna better though. It looks alot better than the last pictures I saw, but I hope it could come out a bit more clear in the full version. Maybe its my eyes making it seem a bit unclear...

And a Nbr clan sounds great you can count me in!

Just a wild guess here: in order to get an overview of the game. Otherwise he'd have to use a tripod to film that footage. And I just can't really imagine, how, he could handle a mouse, keyboard and hold his camcorder *lol* 3rd hand anyone?

And the NBR community definitely needs more points of contact, TF2 and UT3 both rock.

I just hope that the release version, which contains higher res textures will scale down the same way the demo does. (to a playable 25-30 FPS)

Is there going to be a mode like UT2004 with vehicles to capture nodes? (name eludes me for the moment) that was my favorite mode by far. I played it 99% of the time.

Also the mode for co op mission based objectives was alot of fun and what I played alot before I got into onslaught (ahah rememberd the name of the mode)

I hope those modes are just missing beause its a demo, and not how it really is.

this is the beta demo, they just wanted to get some feedback and do some internet stress testing before officially releasing the final Demo and Retail version with all of the goodies available.

    UPDATE:
just added the VCTF video to the thread....
    - watch my hoverboard skills :D

With my laptop I averaged about 20fps at 1920x1200 with max settings and had 5 bot AI running. While doing that I had STEAM running in the background using between 10%-16% of my cpu.

This game has been coded increadibly well to be getting framerates, on a beta, like this under those circumstances.

I have to admit, after a few tweaks this game runs suprisingly well on my notebook.

The game is very very well optimized. I ran it at 1280x800 with everything maxed out in my dell 1520 with 2ghz, 2gb ram and 8600m gt. it was completely smooth and i had messenger, skype, daemon tools and norton running on the background.

Let's not forget the debacle that followed the UT2004 demo, though - the prerelease demo ran really smoothly on everybody's computers, and we were all so thrilled, and then the actual game came out and ran (comparatively) like crap. Though I don't see any reason this should be the case again, you never know.

That said, I am very impressed with the demo. Other games on the engine released to date have had notoriously poor performance, so I was pleased the demo runs well at 1280x800, low settings on my laptop (25-35 fps). And at 1680x1050, maximum settings, my desktop never skips a beat. A very pleasant change from the atrocious performance of WiC, R6:V, and the Crysis Beta.

I don't remember that debacle at all, so thanks for letting me know about it heh. The UT2K4 demo ran exactly like the actual game did for me on my box at the time.

Yeah I've got to say though the game does run great, and it looks great too. Good job Gophn with all the vids and pics.

The UT2004 demo seemed fine to me... and the retail as well.

I think it might have been for a small number of people with a particular hardware config.

i didnt play the ut2k4 demo but the actual game ran pretty well on my desktop back then which had a puny radeon 9600 pro and 512 mb ram. i m hoping ut3 keeps it performance in the actual game and gears of war follows its lead.
