I've heard bad things about UT3......

I played the demo when it first came out... seemed like every other Unreal game, just with nicer graphics.

wow, yeah, I mean, I haven't played it, I'm sure it's a solid game, but they haven't innovated (they can't continue to ship the game multiplayer game, with big textures, and expect me to pay even $5.00 for it), there are are more rewarding and entertaining titles out there... example, give me the orange box, heck, give me just TF2 & Portal @$22.00 over Unreal Tourney 3 anyday, Half-life is another story.

    $20 is reasonable for UT3.

The problem was never that it was a bad game, the problem was that it was the same game.

well gogamer had it for 9.99 maybe they still do, and you get the box and everything. i owned the ps3 version (paid full price and traded in for 27) it was terrible , i liked the concept though, so i bought the pc version for the full 50 . im dissapointed but compared to alot of other games at that price point its a great value.

What is UT3 about? Is it an arena multiplayer thing like TF2 or is there a story mode?

I paid $60 for UT3 when it came out, played it very little, and really haven't even touched it at all this year. It was a huge waste of cash. The developers are *******s, the game isn't even remotely fun, everything is plastic-wrapped and turd-colored, the PC version is missing things from the console versions, and nearly every promise from the developer was broken. It has some of the stupidest AI I've ever seen (seriously...endlessly driving tanks off cliffs in Power Surge is unforgivable).

All this is merely my opinion, but as a former huge UT fan, I have to say that the only way this game would be worthwhile is if they were giving it away. It's absolutely bombed in price for a very good reason.

i like the fast pace of ut3 i think thats one of the nicest things about it, it keeps that old school shooter feel like doom and quake.
