I recently got a new M14x and saw that there was a new driver so i updated it, i then went to play a game and as usual click the context menu option to switch from integrated to GPU and this pops up

"You do not have privileges to select processor in this menu"

I know i can change via control center but it was handy this way can anyone help?

    welcome to nbr
you shouldnt have to click anything as it should be auto switching.

im guessing its nvidia so if its the latest driver you loaded it might not show the menu as its a beta driver.

oh yeh, just checked that and its on the right click menu. never seen that before lol, but never really had to look.

im running the beta and theres not much difference from the last whql. my scores are a fraction lower but im not bothered about that.

its entirely upto you if you roll back or not. if this driver isnt doing what the last one did then roll back and wait for the next whql. if you are getting smooother gameplay then stick with these.

good question but im not sure. windows updates in the past have caused many issues but not sure they would drop your fps.

do you ever run any benchmarks. you could try all the ones in my sig below, 3dmark06/vantage/3dmark11/3dmark
i run these on a monthly basis or before and after ive updated drivers and if you see a massive drop then you know something is wrong.
