How do you know when to update your graphic drivers? And where do you find them? I recall someone posting a link to a place that helped with drivers, but I can't find the post. :(

I'm rather knew to laptops and good graphic cards in general. So any help would be appreciated. :)

    (I have ati x700 128mb dedicated, btw)

this thread was a few posts down.

basically what you need to do..go to Add/Remove Programs (Start-> CTRL Panel-> Add/Remove), find your old drivers (ATI Uninstall Utility, or anything else ATI), and uninstall them...reboot when prompted. after you boot, install the new drivers, and then reboot when prompted again. also, CCC (catalyst control center) is a huge resource hog, but i would recommend it ATM over ATI Tray Tools..tray tools made my computer spazz...it would mess up any game i tried to play, and make the buttons above the keyboard not function..unless they have fixed the problem with it, i would recommend staying away from it.

edit- you could also use a program called.. Driver Cleaner Pro, to remove all ATI drivers, but you would need to boot into safe mode and follow the instructions from their website.

    hope this helps,

    pb,out.
