    Hi All,

    I'm new here.

One quick question - Is it possible to upgrade the GPU of an Asus G-series laptop from a GT 540M to the GTX series - like GTX 460 or GTX 560?? I'm considering buying this laptop that uses a i7 2670QM(2.2GHz). Not sure of the exact model though.

    Any insight is highly appreciated.

PS. Something went wrong and a couple of empty thread got posted. Mods: pls delete.

    Thanks!!

Asus uses a proprietary card which can not be changed or upgraded. Unless they changed that with the newest G series but from my experiences you can not upgrade the card. If your looking for upgrade-ability and a not bank breaking price point try making a laptop from ibuypower, malibal, etc that use the clevo platform. Or you could easily pick up a G series Asus with a 460m or 560m.
