Hey guys! I'm new to the forums, but I've been searching for the answer to this for a while. I called Toshiba and they said it couldn't be done, but I'm still skeptical.
I'm trying to get a better graphics card in my laptop. I've got a Toshiba Satellite L655 S5072 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M350 @ 2.27GHz.
4 gigs of ram, 64-bit op system.
The problem is that my graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics card.
I realize that this chip is built into the motherboard and cannot be removed. But, is it possible to put in a better graphics card somehow and just disable to intel HD graphics card?
Thanks in advance for any insight. Just let me know if I can provide any more information to help!

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to upgrade your graphics card because you don't really have one to upgrade.
You can try an eGPU solution that might work with your system

It's generally not possible to upgrade notebook video cards. There are some gaming machines and mobile workstations that have what's called an MXM slot, which is basically a slot for a modular GPU to connect to. They're rarely found in lower-end computers.
Like Ghold mentioned, it is possible to connect a desktop GPU to a notebook, but you would need to have the proper connectors. Since your laptop doesn't have Light Peak or an Expresscard slot, I think you're out of luck. Sorry -
Still wishing for that i can use a 28nm GPU upgrade on my Clevo though.
