I have an HP Pavilion dv7-3186cl with an NVIDIA GeForce G 105M graphics card and I was wanting to upgrade to a more powerful card. Any help?

And no, your graphics card cannot be upgraded. You will need to buy a new notebook.

Though if you really wanted to do it, assuming you have the 105GT card, you would have to get the motherboard version that has the 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 320M. I don't know the part number. But you'd have to hunt around for it, buy it, then replace your current mobo with that one as the video circuitry is soldered to the board.

    Here's the service manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01859666.pdf

In this case, you actually can switch mobos. Chassis fitted the mobo that has the 105M is exactly the same as the one with the 320M. OP will find out when he/she does the research. The issue is expense may not be worth it considering the cost of a mobo for a notebook this recent.
