Is it possible to update the RAM of the graphics card?

    ATM, I have a 256mb 8600M GT.

However, I'd like to have a 512, or even more if possible. Or even 1 gig.

I've got 4gig of ram on my laptop, dual core processor and windows vista.

If I can upgrade the ram on the GFX card, would that make post-processing in games faster?

You can't and even if you could it would be pointless for that card...

Unfortunately, you can't. RAM on video cards is not upgradable because it comes directly soldered onto the board. I'm not even aware of any desktop GPUs that offer upgradable RAM on them.
