    Hi people!
I was just wondering would it be possible to change the 8600M GS (That Dell wrongly game me) to a 8600M GT (Which Dell promised me).
I just want to know if its possible. Any further help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks
    Anthony

To be honest, I'm not sure it is possible. It will probably require a mainboard swap.

Dell uses their own designs, even for the modular GPUs, so you can only upgrade if Dell offers the option.

Sorry...but at this point you need to get a huge discount on the notebook or a full refund for Dell's blatant misadvertisements.

I know it wont be 'that' easy...
Could I take it to a computer shop (?) and get them to do it..
Damn Dell and their legal modifying!!!

P.S I have just sent this email to customer services...

''Hello. I was just wondering if you think this is fair?? A few days ago I tried to purchase a Vostro 1710 with 2GHz D2C Processor, 3GB RAM, 256MB GeForce 8600 GT.. For 539.33.
You have charged me the EXACT same price for the same configuration but the graphics card is a 8600 GS which I have seen reviews for and it is a significantly worse graphics card!!!
Do you think that is fair? I think I deserve a discount for however much you saved by cheating me out of a graphics card! That or I will send it my new laptop to you and you will change the graphics card FREE OF CHARGE!
I demand a real person reply to me! Not a robot! And I want a helpful reply not just a reply that will have me shifted to another Customer Service representative. This is where Dells 'Amazing' customer service should be able to help a very angry customer want to deal with Dell again!
    I await your response...''

My orders still pending.. I hope they dont cancel it out of spite

If you have a receipt or any proof of ordering the 8600M GT, you`re covered and Dell will have to give you the GT or a discount.
