I'd like to read thoughts and drool over this:

    Upgrading my Clevo P9170 675mx to a 770M for 230$US. I'm thinking this is a great deal.
    --
Currently I can play most 2014 games Advanced Warfare (medium@30-40fps), and Shadow of Mordor at Ultra at 30-40...except for Far Cry 4 (20-25fps at low-med settings, no AA, no GDRays, etc...)
    --
Is the upgrade going to make me drool? Is there a certian type of architecture upgrade in the 770M that'll rock my socks? I know this is going from a gddr3 to a gddr5.

So in essence I'm wanting to feel vendicated in setting up my seller to sell this to me, and that i'm getting the most bang for my buck, or should i wait.

Uh 675MX is GDDR5 and both 770M and 860M are downgrades. Why not just overclock?

I use IXTU to OC my gpu, or msi afterburner...w/ MSI afterburner, i notice a very small, marginal improvement, and w/ IXTU I have absolutely 0 idea on what to place my sliders to.

675MX has a crazy amount of headroom. With an unlocked vBIOS, others have overclocked it by well over 50%.

I've read this about a year ago, however never found any walkthroughs for the 675mx...infact when I last cranked all the sliders up to max in IXTU, I noobishly locked myself out of windows, and had to regedit my way back w/ an IXTU uninstall.

Intel XTU is for CPU and integrated graphics. You need to use a GPU overclocking program such as MSI Afterburner or Nvidia Inspector.

if you can get 30-40 fps in shadow of mordor with ultra settings then going to 770m would be a downgrade because my 770m with 4800mq can't even do that and my 770m is slightly overclocked .
Unless I'm doing something wrong .
My fps is between 22-30 on the first world and 18-25 on second world on all ultra settings.

Oc the 675mx as it has practically the same potential as the 680m! 770m won't touch it due to 192bit bus! It has less shaders but that won't always be apparent. Memory bandwidth is much more apparent on mobile cards.

Then upgrade to 970m/980m later when they become cheap
