Hello I've been looking into upgrading my laptop gpu. Ive currently got a nvidia 8600m gt 512mb GDDR 2 in my zepto 3415w also known as the compal ifl90.

I have looked into what i can swap it for on http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/Table.html Which says i can upgrade to a HD3650.

Would i be able to install this?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATI-HD3650-HD-3650-1024MB-1GB-M86-MXM-II-Video-VGA-Card_W0QQitemZ150351671421QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TV_Cards?hash=item2301a8707d&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|293%3A1|294%3A30

As they are both MXM II...

Any feedback would be very much appreciated :)

    Would there be much of a performance differnece between a DDR2 512MB 8600m gt and a HD3650 DDR3 256MB?

Depends on what resolution and settings and games. Overall, I would say about 10% better.

With which one being better? Would it be worth the £100 to change to the 3650 ddr3?

id say about 20%, that was the approx difference between the gddr3/ddr2 8600m GT's, your call on what its worth though, it will be slightly better though.

Currently im on a HD 3650 512/ddr2 and my friend has a dell xps with an 8600 256/ddr2. The performance on my card is slighty better (around 5-8 fps on some games) other games are pretty much the same. Yours is a gddr3 so it might be a bit more than that, do more research too see if it is worth it first. Imo the cards are very very similar with the 3650 with a slight advantage.

Oops, I meant the HD 3650 lol. My bad. I wouldn't pay that much though unless you feel that your current GPU just isn't enough and you don't want to get a new notebook.
