    Old PC:

    512 mb ram
    ati radeon x300 se

    New laptop:
    Intel core 2 duo @ 2.1 ghz

Is this an upgrade or downgrade for light games?

Can I expect any improvement in a game like Team Fortress 2?

    It's an upgrade.
The CPU is a lot better, ram is a lot better and the GPU is slightly better.

    So overall you win :)

Edit: welcome to NBR (forgot to say this).

I forgot to mention, the ati radeon x300 se is 128 mb.

So my new integrated card is "slightly better" than the old standalone card?

    Thanks again

Why don't you just buy a dedicated GPU?
I mean not necessary an expensive 1.
For example: ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 which is 256MB and better than GMA card. It is d@mn cheap!

Edit: Overall has been upgrade greatly except for the GPU(slightly only).
