I ran SiSoftware Sandra on my laptop and one of the pieces of info it gave about my laptop was under Expansion Slot(s)

PCI Express Graphic X16 : PCIe x16 PME Hot-Plug Available

Does it mean that I can buy an external video card, plug it in and thus have a better video card?

    Thank you for your replies.

    negative.

if you have an expresscard slot, you could look into the ViDock, though. But it is really pricey for what it is in my opinion.

Some say that the 16x slot is disabled, but not sure. We'll have to look into it because i also have a 16x slot on my laptop.

masterchef is right, nearly 100% are stuck that way. unless its clearly denoted in the laptops description that it has user upgradable graphics, which would be a selling point. but even then, finding mobile gpu's is also dodgy.

basically, if your laptop has upgradable graphics, you know, because you bought it explicitly for that purpose, and you spent $2000 or more on it.
