Dang thats a good price. I have to get the cpu at bestbuy cuz i have 200$ giftcard. The GPU and Motherboard are too expensive there so I figured I would get the cpu, psu and ram at bestbuy and the GPU and Motherboard on newegg

I recommend if you want to OC the CPU to get an aftermarket HSF. Something like the Cooler Master Hyper 210 or something might be good.
-
don't get artic silver there are much better and cheaper. imo ic diamond it's too expensive for what it does. there are similar and cheaper. just make sure it's not electrical conductive. everyone has it's choices...
imo get a good cheap aftermarket cooler for the cpu so you can overclock properly. something like this:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910-HTX3-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" 92mm CPU Cooler -
What do you guys think of this PSU?
Corsair - Builder Series 600-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply - CMPSU-600CX
If I can do with less wattage that would be good too cuz im trying to spend 40-60 on the psu -

Anything DDR3-1600+ will work.
-
Would 8gb be overkill?
-
4gb is more then enough for gaming. -
With GPU, CPU, Mobo, PSU and RAM, it comes to a total of just a little over
$500. That was exactly around the max amount I wanted to spend. Thank you guys for all your help. Ill post pics and specs of my remade m8000n when its assembled. Can't wait!!! -

some people spend almost that much on external gpu's for laptops. this will be MUCH faster.

I came upon this little dilema while I was reading the reviews of the xfx hd6870
that I just bought,
Be forewarned that it does require a power supply with two PCI 6-pin power cables
What does this mean exactly? Does my MOBO or PSU meet these requirements? -
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
It should work with a 650W. Most 650W comes with the said cable for that requirement.
-
Corsair - Builder Series 600-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply - CMPSU-600CX
This is the PSU in question, does it meet this requirement? -

My order from newegg has finally shipped out!!! Just a few more days and I'll b playing battlefield 3 on high settings!
I have another question, can I simply stick my old harddrive into the new mobo and reformatt it in the bios settings, or do I need to do it on the old computer? -
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
The HDD should be PnP.
-
So theoretically I wouldn't even have to reformatt it?
