    Upgrading form X1600 to X1700...

    I am buying a new ASUS w3j next month when the Meroms come out in them.

    This comp comes with an X1600 but I hear that the X1700 is soon to be out.

    Will I be able to upgrade?

    Will it be worth it? Anyone have an idea how much faster the X1700 is than the X1600?

    I do not really understand what you mean with upgrading. If you mean, should I get the X1700 then the answer is yes.
    If you mean: can I replace the X1600 by an X1700 the answer is no.

    It's not worth spending money on a new GPU when you have a perfectly good GPU in your system--especially when you won't be gaining much at all in terms of performance. And that's if and only if the upgrade is possible--which they generally are not.

    Try not to get caught up in chasing all the newest technology releases or you'll never be able to enjoy what you have.
