hi, first i'd just like to say im new to this site, i've seen threads asking (similar?) questions and some good answers, so i thought i'd give it a try, any help is appreciated =)

ok, so im choosing a laptop to buy, most of the laptops im considering have either- nVidia 7300 go / 7600 go/ 7700
    some other ones have- ati radeon X700 / X1400 / X1600

can someone possibly put these in rank of best to worse? that would be most helpful, i've been reading a lot about graphic cards lately, 7300/X1400 are the weaker models? and X1600 is slightly better, followed by 7600, then 7700 then the X700, am i correct?

i will be playing WoW on this laptop, but i dnt change computers very often and i'd like a pretty good graphics card that can be pretty respectable in 2 years or so, when i read reviews, they very seldom have the graphic cards i stated (or have i been lookin in all the wrong places), i think they have mostly higher end cards such as nVidia 7950 etc, none of the laptops here (btw im in Taiwan) have cards such as these, do gamers usually buy their own graphic card seperately to put into the laptop? (i dnt think salesman in taiwan allow you change the graphic card in laptops,)

the nVidia site has some pretty good specs that are relatively easy to understand, where as the ATI radeon site are a bit more confusing to me, and i couldnt find reviews for the cards i stated (also the reviews i found for 7600 are all GS and GT editions)

so yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated , thanks in advance for people taking the time to read this.

Also one more question about CPUs, many salesman here in Taiwan are telling me that Core duo are Core solo will not produce much of a difference for normal usage, it only boosts the speed and productively of CPU slightly, is this true?

    Thanks again, =)

You cannot really upgrade a video card aftermarket. You should buy the card you want now, as in most cases it will be impossible to upgrade.

As far as video cards are concerned, see this sticky. You should definitely get a a Core Duo if not a Core 2 Duo. There is no reason not to and you will see much snappier performance, especially when multitasking.

Im sorry but your totally wrong lol. Make sure you look at the notebook graphics card page, it has them all ranked for you already. But just for the heck of it, ill list them in order for you.
    7300
    x1400
    x700
    x1600/7600 go
    x1700/7700 go

You can only upgrade an mxm III GPU module, such as a 7800 gtx to a 7950 GTX. Usually not worth it. Dont get core solo, get core 2 duo if possible.

O and the 7600 gt is just clocked higher and has 512 memory instead of 256, which hardly matters. Umm for WoW, all you need is like a 7300/x1400. Doesnt take much. Dont worry.
