What video card do you have? I see you aren't running Aero. Is your computer running in power save mode?

What game are you trying to run? Is this your first time running it?

Edit: Oh, I reread your post. I don't think you installed the driver for your graphics card. I hear www.laptopvideo2go.com is where you want to go.

you could try going into control panel > display properties > advanced > troubleshoot and see if Hardware Acceleration is off. This procedure is for XP but im pretty sure its the same in Vista

You need to install graphics drivers.

Read the stickied post at the top of this gaming subforum, I think it is titled "Updating your Graphics Drivers". I would recommend using the laptopvideo2go.com method.

When you do go searching for drivers on their forum, I'd recommend the 175.19 drivers for stability.

Before you try all that, try running windows update, it is somewhat possible that Microsoft will automatically update the driver to something capable of running Lost Planet.

Also make sure the power setting while trying to play games is "High Performance."

But yeah, your problem is the graphics driver. Get a new one.

Thought he said he had to do a "reboot my OS and computer to Factory settings"

I was assuming that meant he had to use the restore disk that came with the comp, however the restore disk doesnt install the latest drivers, and some special utilities have to be installed with the disk seperatly.
