Seems there are now devices that allow for precision mice and keyboards to be used on game consoles. Previously from what I know, there were devices, but still limited to same rate as a game controller. But now this is like PC mouse/keyboard vs game controller.

This guy played PUBG for his first time ever, and used this device, and took first place.

I think this is a bad idea. The whole saving grace of the console ecosystem for multi (I haven't given a damn about mp for many years so maybe I have no skin in the game) was that everyone was using controllers and it leveled the playing field. As long as they do their best to segregate games based on controller type it sounds ok I guess. But we all know how this will end, people will just grief and humiliate anyone using a controller and MP will end up even more toxic than it is now.

Watch a video of someone playing Xbox PUBG with a controller, and you'll really understand how unfair of an advantage this is.

The console version is supposed to be a bunch of people aiming like they're stuck in molasses. No snap shots allowed.

I love playing FPS's with my controller these days. DooM 2016, Wolf II, Prey.. etc.. It's just more comfortable. But I also just play SP these days, I haven't played a game MP in.. I don't even remember how long at this point. But hearkening back to 1994-1997, the time when I was the only one that started using Key+Mouse back when I'd get together with a bunch of friends every Sat night and play Doom on a LAN all night long. Everyone had to start doing it because the anger and animosity was getting real. It wasn't fun anymore. We all started by using the keyboard solely, one person used a Gravis gamepad, it was still fair with keyboard only vs gamepad. But I was cleaning the floor with everyone when I switched to Mouse + Keybd. We had to take like 2-3 weeks to get everyone using mouse before it was competitive again. Some people just gave up and started playing different games.

I think it's a horrible idea unless games can be strictly segregated by controller type.

As much as I love the *idea* of this, I too think it's a terrible idea and could really hurt console multiplayer, and will amount to basically cheating and will ruin the competitive spirit like hfm says.

I play mostly on PC but also really enjoy kicking back on the couch and enjoying my XboxOne. This defeats the point of a level playing field.
