My budget being very limited, I am looking at used laptops.
I have come across many, but a few caught my attention.
I am no hardcore gamer, I just need to be able to run modern games, but i dont mind setting the graphics to low when I play. I will not be playing Crysis 2 on high settings dont worry. I am aware that I will not be able to do that on a $600 used laptop.
If you want to make suggestions, go to kijiji.ca and I live in Quebec>montreal.\
Here are the laptops in question:
SONY VAIO (VPCCW21FD/W)- LAPTOP FOR SALE - 2 YEARS FULL WARRANTY - Montréal Computers For Sale - Kijiji Montréal Canada.
POrtable Lenovo à vendre - Montréal ordinateurs à vendre - Kijiji Montréal

You'd be better off buying the Asus K53TA from Staples (Canada) for 549$ (save 50$ until Sept 4th). You'll get much better performance in games and it's new! It plays all modern games on medium (some with high setting).

The Sony laptop you linked will be a big pile of crap in modern games. It can't even handle modern games on low
Note: The Asus is currently out of stock online, but check local stores. If not, then check the site frequently; they refresh the stock in 2-3 days usually since it's the biggest hot seller out of all their current laptops. -
Thank you very much for the suggestion and to precision on the vaio

You can also follow this thread in the Asus section:

to find out more about the laptop if you choose to buy one. You can also find out how to overclock the said laptop and increase it's power in games

Alternatively the Acer 3830TG is also around $600 in Staples if I remember correctly. It has the GT540M which is more powerful than the 6650 even.
-
The 540 is a little more powerful, but not by much in the benchmarks.
The problem with the Acer is it's 13.3" vs the Asus' 15.6". Also, I was reading on the Acer forums that this model comes with malfunctioning batteries that forces a great deal of users to replace them within the first 1-3 months, which is a pain (Acer covers it via warranty). There's also reported throttling issues while gaming - haven't read much into solutions, though.
I compared them both in person and found that the Asus has an excellent keyboard/touchpad. The Acer uses a very cheap chicklet keyboard and a below average touchpad (that is also about 30% smaller than the Asus).
Just something to consider.

the acer being 13.3 inch isnt a problem at all for me, actually it would be a plus!
I prefer having a small laptop. I actually have a 12.1 inch and I love its size.
ill consider the isues youve talked about thought.. thank you
