title says it all. I searched and got nothing. I've googled it several times and nothing really pertaining to laptop installation, and I cann't switch my ide drive in my lappy.

I just got mh hgl-30 and it's on a fresh install, updaded Tweak 3d drivers for my 7600 and it runs counter strike source like a charm. But, I can install wow.

    here's what I've tried

    3x Different Cd sets
ripping the files to laptop hard drive
    ripping files on another computer
installing over the network with the HD files
Installing using a shared Cd rom on another computer that has installed WoW fine previously.

I leeched the wow folder from the other computer to do a ZG run, but I have a few issues, probaly because it's not running through the registry or something. I don't know i've tried **** near everything but Voodo or Hoodo. So if any can help just reply here or pm if ya want. Thanks for reading

What kind of error message are you getting? Is the install starting and then crashing? Or is it not starting at all?
What OS are you running? I would assume WinXP, but sometimes that isn't the case.
The devil is usually in the details when it comes to issues like this.

Yeah ok I did leave out a few things, thank you boobs mcgee. Ok:

Windows Xp Pro Sp2 fully updated to the latest

Installer errors. Several kinds. Patch.mpq avi files, it just errors. And the bad thing is it's not like other games where it says cannot read file and lets you try again, if it errors, then it just says Sorry, there was an error, and you have to start all over again. It's not just 1 file that is always errors on, it's several, and it's sometime soon as i start the installa nd sometimes it is on disc 4 or around it's equivilant when trying from HDD's

Maybe you have an anti-virus or other security program that's blocking the files from being copied/read properly.

It's weird that it would stop at random points like that.

If you really want to play, maybe reformat and see what that does. Install the game before anything else and see if that works.

Did fresh install again today and still the same thing. No anti-virus installed or anything like that. Tried off the client and CD's again, and still errors in various spots.

Could this be a hardware issue i'm dealing with? I've not had anyother troubles expect with WoW. Played counter strike fine, and I've only had it since friday, and the majority of the time since I've been working on solutions for this problem.

    I would test your RAM.
It could also be some sort of issue that would require a complete reformat (my 2nd suggestion).

Just as an update for anyone who has looked at this:

Notice at the begining I said this was brand new HGL-30 only thing installed was CS SOURCE, Ventrilo, and AIM.

I tried switching the memory slot i have 1x1g memory, almost worked, no dice.

So I figured I installed something wrong...and I installed the drivers before SP2..my standard operating procedure for my desktops. So I catch the ENGRISH, and install each driver after SP2 and everything looks good. DONKKK!!!! Disc 4 I get the error, and then try several times and keep getting random errors.

So, I get the installer, and after about 10 tries, it installs. So I try to update and DONKKK!!! errors galore, So i just copy the files from desktop to my laptop, because at least what is in windows registry is actually there, instead of just a crude copy job by passing registry.

Next Day --> I get Burning Crusade !!! WOOOHOOO Try to install and DONKKKKKKKKK! Same crap. At this point I'm about to call powernotebooks and say this thing is defective! But i'll run Memtest86+ first. 13 Passes later, and 0 errors, I will try some more things.

I installed battlefield 2142 without a hitch and it plays quite well.
Steam installed, and Counter Strike Source Runs brilliant and old school DoD also (given) without a hitch.

I know some people do have install problems with WoW, but what in the hell could this be? Chipset Drivers incompatible with WoW or what? I am a bit disheartend because that was a major use of this purchase.

I can play WoW doing it ghetto style, but I never know which mods are going to crash the game, over, and over, and over, and over. Not to mention patches...that i'll never be able to install without my desktop or a friends near by :(

Will copy this into blizzard post too so I don't place too much load on you.

Man... I have no idea. definently go check out the offical blizz forums and see what they say. That really makes no sense at all.

It really gets me that you tried multiple media sources and are still having problems. I wish I could be more help... but this makes no sense.
