    I was wondering about something..

I am currently in the process of purchasing a laptop for college and i wanted it to have some gaming capabilities. I don't feel the need to implement dual GPU's just yet so i don't think i'm going to bother with SLI.

Anyhow.. one option when customizing my Alienware m9700 is that i can opt to get:

    "Dual 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS - SLI Enabled [+$300] Gamer's Choice!"

    If i opt to just get: 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS

can i get an additional GPU chip in a year or so and then turn it into a dual GPU unit? Or are the "dual" chips a whole separate thing that must be purchased together?

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but what would you need to create an SLI link with 2 x 7900GS Go's? Does the laptop motherboard need to have an extra GPU slot, or do both GPU's connect to the same slot using an adapter? I'm hoping to revive an old and possibly dead 7900GS Go and link it up with a new one, just out of curiosity!

What exactly would an SLI link need? Any pics of such an SLI configuration would help loads, I've been searching all over the net for such pics and can't find any to help me.

    Thanks in advance
