Thanks for posting this up.
Could you put the information that you received from the NVIDIA website in [ quote ] [ / quote ] tags?
Also some good information for everyone interested:

Yes sir. The original post is in quotes now.
-
It's sir.
Thanks again! I'll be trying the drivers out when time permits.
Although it's not necessary, feel free to format the quote so that it's easier on the eyes.

Done & done! ;p

WOW! Thanks for the heads up. All I can say is I see dramatic increase in speed playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 even without using fraps to see fps. I'm assuming the 12% increase in performance for dual core cpus has helped significantly with the game. Nvidia has learned alot about multiple cores with experience from their dual core mobile chip the Tegra 2, and I don't know how it helps performance with the intel chip but these drivers are working magic. Sorry Ati but Nvidia is pulling far ahead

driver wont find compatible hardware. ive uninstalled, cleaned registry, rebooted in safe mode and nothing. im tired of trying. maybe ill stick with the 257.27 beta with 3d vision uninstalled since that worked for me. Any ideas?
-
Weird, i have no change in fps with the new drivers

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
depends on what drivers you were using before, what application you are using, your hardware configuration, etc. -
I used the 270.61 and have the same laptop as Jacob, exept he has a i5 and i have i7. That said i am not sure if he has Full HD
-
i got the same issues...any thoughts?
M17x R1, GeForce GTX 260m (dual) SLI, Intel T9600 2.8ghz, 8G ram, Win 7 64, 270.61 WHQL driver, A07 bios, 1440x900 -
yeah I tried running fraps and framerates are the same, I also ran nvidia system monitor with both cores of CPU and GPU % showing, GPU is blasting at 99% i believe about 38% GPU FB and getting about 60-70% on both CPU cores, yet the game just feels "fast" compared to the previous WHQL.
I'm just curious what Nvidia means by "12% increase for dual core CPUs..." -
@Regurgitate0927 and crzychinook
NVDM.INF of 275.33 misses some devices(GTX 260M, 280M, 285M) which are present in NVDM.INF of 275.27.
Change in NVDM.INF of 275.27
DriverVer = 05/13/2011, 8.17.12.7527
to
DriverVer = 05/20/2011, 8.17.12.7533
and then replace NVDM.INF of 275.33 with it.
If you're still unable to install, look in the other INF files for missing devices.
Good luck. -
Did you guys try driver sweeper? Install it first, boot into safe mode, run the program, analyze and select the nvidia key registry and delete them all.
Reboot and try then to install the new drivers, here's the link:

i tried this and had a good fps boost in witcher 2 (all settings maxed totally) uber sampling disabled and had a good 50+fps...but i experience some occassional CTDs...any ideas?
-
Can't find compatible driver!!! This is ridiculous... How can I update, I have the 540m gt?
-
maximinimaus already gave the solution for those who have compatibility issues.
-
Well, that's not the solution...
-
As I mentioned in post #13, NVDM.INF misses some devices. This also true for the GT 540M. If you were able to install 275.27 the described procedure should work.
You can also post your devid and subsystem for the GT 540M from device manager to search for them in the INF files.
In device manager it looks like
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_065C&SUBSYS_30E7103C&REV_A1(this is for a Nvidia Quadro FX 770M) -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
I dont understand whats the problem guys.
Laptopvideo2go.com released an app a while ago to modify the inf in a click even for those with optimus cards.
Its very easy to use, so check the site. Should be LV2G++.
Just download the mobile verde, extract it, launch the program, locate the inf, set the options and hit the button.
Very easy to use. -
I've tried the modifying the driver with the app from Laptopvideo2go but still doesn't work.
It recognizes the hardware and begins installing, but then pops up a message that installation failed... -
You have another option!
-
Tried the driver from LV2GO with the modified inf. Installed the driver, but now optimus doesn't work! Photoshop won't detect the nvidia...
Hate this -
"Increases performance by up to 12% for dual-core CPUs in CPU-limited cases"
can anybody confirm this?
-
as maximinimaus says you have another option. just look at post #13 of this thread.
-
I've already tried that... other suggestions? Seems like the driver from acer website is the only one that can work on my machine
-
I'm pretty sure you also could not install 275.27.
I downloaded the Nvidia driver for the ACER 3830TG from their website and found in the NVAC.inf more devices than in the corresponding inf file of 275.33 and 275.27.
If you can supply the hardware id(DEV_XXXX) and the sub system(SUBSYS_YYYYYYYY) for your GT 540M I can look further in your problem.
You can find the needed information in device manager. -
This is what I found in device manager:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&SUBSYS_054E1025&REV_A1
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&SUBSYS_054E1025
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&CC_0300
Do I need OEM driver for optimus to work? -
I'm sorry to tell that nvac.inf of 275.33 contains no SectionXXX corresponding to the entry for your device id in the ACER Nvidia driver inf.
I believe you depend on the drivers from ACER website.
Sorry. -
Thanks for replying! I just checked, photoshop does detect my nvidia everytime, but it doesn't when "power smart" button is enabled. Should've checked that first. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the new drivers will work with optimus.
Do you still have the optimus thing working after updating the driver? How about IGP updates, that won't break optimus right? -
I have no Optimus setup, but looking in the Display.Optimus install folder, I found no Intel crap. So I assume, the update of the Intel driver does not affect Nvidia Optimus operation. But as I said, I can't test it.

saturnotaku Notebook Nobel Laureate
The Intel driver is separate from the NVIDIA one. You need to install both sets individually if you have an Optimus setup.
