Okay, ive googled this for quite some time now, and sadly, no avail. So I have a Dell Inspiron B120 laptop with a VGA output, and I have this VGA to S-Video/RCA cable ( http://media.sourcingmap.com/uxcell/images/item/catalog/ux_a07092900ux0003_ux_c.jpg)
Im trying to connect that to my Panasonic TV, i'm not sure what model, but it only has the cable in and the component (yellow, red, white) inputs in the back. Its a tube tv, I know, Im behind. Is there any way of doing is? I mean, I can connect it to my monitor if I plug in it's VGA cable into my laptop...

this wont work, you need a true vga to s-video converter like this one http://www.ramelectronics.net/audiovideo/htpc-media-pc-mac/pc-mac-tv-connectivity/gez-1000/prodGEZ1000.html
,the cable you have won't work -
How come the one I have wont work? What is mine intended for then?

Your cable is classified as a breakout cable.
Since VGA output is analog, sometimes equipment can output Svideo or composite through the same VGA connector.
This is based on how the equipment works, not the cable.
Your cable does not convert VGA to Svideo, it is merely a VGA -> SVideo adapter for equipment that already does the conversion. -
Thank you very much for your time and help. I guess i'll just wait up and save some money!
