Ok, I know to accomplish this, you typically need some converter.
But my notebook (T60) just has VGA out, but it's a ATi X1400 which I know can output YPrPb. (component)
So since the card has the capability to output (analog signals?) can I just get a VGA to component adapter?
Or, does the VGA port only get sent (digital signals?) And would not allow me to achieve output to tv via a simple cable?

Not exactly. I know you can with a converter, or if the tv has VGA.

But, if the laptop only has a VGA out, but the video card can natively display YPrPb (component video) signals, can it display those signals via VGA out essentially? If so, I'd just make a VGA to YPrPb cable out of cat5e.
