    hi guys,

i'm running velvet assassin on the gateway 7811 with a 9800mgts, 4 gig ram, duo core 2.25. The gameperformance is really low und it kinda feels very laggy. The graphics arent that great so i dont understand why its running so badly. Anybody knows some graphic tweaks?

Haven't played it myself, but some general advice:

Turn off AA and AF. You'll probably have to switch to medium details or so. Shadows and such can be killer. It also looks from screenshots like there's a lot of "fog" style effects. That can REALLY kill performance.

I really couldnt see it killing performance THAT much...I mean, its a Source engine based game, no? Not that graphically intense at all...had the same laptop as you and could play just about every game maxed out...

What background programs are you running and how many? What settings are you playing the game on? I mean, if you have every maxed (like 16x AA) then even on a game like this it can be pretty hard to run. Have you patched it completely? I think it is all Steam driven, no? Should already be all patched.

Other than that, driver installing the newest drivers if you havent already. If that doesnt work then just dont play the game, it REALLY isnt that good I dont think...totally a waste of $...

yeah steam updated the game. With all details on low and on 800x600 i runs perfectly, but when put up the 1920x1200 it goes down to 30 frames. Its funny, bd company 2 runs way better on that resolution, must be the game that is poorly transported to hte pc. What the hell, its singleplayer only.

Yeah, probably a poor port if anything...but really, depending on settings, 30fps on average really isnt that bad at 1200p with a 9800m GTS...I mean, you are talking ~desktop 9600GT performance...you can only expect so much at that resolution...but I do have to say, the 7811 DOES have one of the most beautiful LCDs Ive ever seen!
