I have a Toshiba Satellite a215-s7416 with the Radeon x1200 card. My system is clean and has updated drivers. I recently even did a defragment using Diskeeper (did great). However, my games are VERY laggy. I am trying to play War Rock and Combat Arms. I have set my graphics card to provide most performance and set the settings on my games to low everything, yet it doesn't change much really. I understand my graphics card SUCKS, but come on. It can't be THIS bad.
1 more thing: when trying to open warrock with my ATI driver 8.6 or even 8.5, it just crashes. This could just be ATI's fault, but I don't know.

Tried a clean install?
Games don't lag on my 1150(at least those games). -
What settings are you running? According to Wikipedia, Combat Arms requires a GeForce 2 MX, which means it should run - that is about a 2001 graphics card, and budget at that time. But it recommends a GeForce FX5600 - a mid-to-upper range one from 2003. So while it should play, I'm not sure you really meet the recommended specifications. Thus you may have to turn down the settings and resolution considerably to get it to play well. If it's still bad at 800x600 Low, I'd try running 3dmark06 (or 05) and comparing scores to what others with that graphics card have. It is possible to have a defective integrated graphics card.

Installing it the way in the FAQ doesnt change anything.
I have AMD Athlon 64 dual core with vista basic and 120 g hd.
Like i said, the game settings wont get any lower, even the resolution. -
And my friend nearly maxes it out on a GMA 900. -
check your power settings in control panel. Switch to Always on/desktop mode while gaming and see if that helps.
-
what OS are you other guys using, perhaps vista is the problem?
-
And I am using Vista basic.
If there is no solution soon, it is going back in for service. -
did you run 3dmark yet and compare it to other systems?
-
Could be vista basic in conjunction with that system.
Does thomas use XP? -

From there you'll want to turn everything off. That may or may not help. If it doesn't, then then you'll want to go to catalist control center and see if there are any power saving options you can turn off there. -
I guess I will give 3dmark a try. But yea, it id alrwady set to high performance.
-
I ran 3dmark and i pushed the demo button, and when it loaded i got an error and another error that my graphics crashed. Same crash happens when I try to play War Rock. I have reinstalled 8.6 so many times and even 8.5 crashed.

Just an update guys: defective graphics card and was fixed under warranty...along with reloading all the factory software -.-
I still lag, but it is better. Question though: would adding more RAM help with this damn lag any? Here are my specifications: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/...BV_EngineID=ccceadeekgmjkejcgfkceghdgngdgmn.0 -

Well it didn't help before and i am not sure if it helped now.

Is a GMA900 better than a GMA950?
My friend had CA running on a GMA900,
whilst my dad's Eeepc with a GMA950 doesn't work.
It says: Needs DirectX 9.0 or higher and a card that supports TnL...
Very poor performance
