I been having a hard time figuring out what card in laptop would work best for me in my next laptop.
These are list of games and setting I would like to play them at.

    Highest World At confilct.
High War hammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
High Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight
    Medium Fallout 3
    Medium Dragon Age:Origins
    Medium Mass Effect 1/2
    Medium Kotor
Low Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
    Low Left 4 Dead 2
    Low Borderlands
    Lowest Crysis

I'm looking for a video card that would perform at these specs.
I know that is insane but I know that most member have better knowledge of what cards could do better.
Lastly I don't know what resolution I be playing at since I can't decide on which laptop since I can't decide on a video card.
All I know is I'm not going to make the same mistake with my first one and get 1920 x 1200 resolution with only 256 MB 8600M GT.

    Thank you for your time.

get an ASUS G51J... Comes with full had res , core i7 processor , NVDIA GTX260M, which should play all these games at least medium and most of them at high.. and costs $1499 and even cheaper on some online retailers...

The 7908u will play any of the games you stated just fine. The Asus is better, the screen is full 1080p HD, has an i7(future proof) and much better, the keyboard is backlit. The price tag is a bit higher but well worth it in my opinion. I will say this though there is nothing wrong with going with the gateway. They are well built laptops at a great price.

I want to stay away of 1080p and future proof any biggy as I only really play rts on my laptop the rest of the games I pick up once in awhile beat and delete and the fps I only play when friends want to play it on pc which is rarely.

Really. For Low Crysis you only need an 8600M GT, which you already have.

Hell, my 3650 manages it on Medium pretty good, and the 3650 is actually worse than the 8600M GS.

the asus one surely has a bad battery runtime, but if you are looking to game, who cares.. i've noticed that battery runtime has a role to play when you are on the couch and too lazy to get up and plug your charger...

If you want to play World in Conflict at it's highest settings, then you're going to need a beast of a laptop. It's the Crysis of RTS games basically.

yeah it doesn't really matter that you only need crysis/mw2/L4D2 to run at lowest settings if you want WiC to run at the highest settings.

    you'll need a monster.

if u can , why not spend more on a core i7 laptop... it will last longer than a core 2 duo one when it comes to playing games and certainly a quad will help in crysis or GTA.... ASUS G51J is the cheapest core i7 gaming laptop... there's the G60J if you want a bigger one...

If you have access to the UK, and dont mind small screens.

Go for the Advent 7555 GX in Uk, unbeatable price for what it gives, and i dont tend to like 1080p screens in nb's anyway, thats just me.

Not really.... the HD3650 is on par with a 9500M GS or 8600M GT. the 8600M GS is quite weaker unless OCd.

Based on his URL and the SKU, it's this one ($949):

    http://tinyurl.com/ygqad5r

    G60VX-RBBX05
    P7450 Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz
    GTX 260m 1GB
    14.8" 1366x768
    4GB DDR2
    320 GB HDD

Look at my benchmark post with my P9700 2.8GHz here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=415786

WIC at Very High 1280x800 (~1366x768) is Min: 11, Max: 54, Avg: 28
High is Min: 17, Max: 76, Avg: 36

The Q9000 got similar results, and I don't think WIC is optimized for quad core, and is clocked at 2.0GHz. I would say you'd get similar results.

its not a question about how cheap but how good.. GTX260M is a good card but CPU is barely considered good.. if u really want a core 2 laptop , get the G60 model with a Q9000 at least or get the core i7 G60J.. whatever money u invest now , the longer ur laptop will last...

Yeap, my 6860FX with an X7800 and an 8800m GTS could max WIC at 1440x900.

I think the 7809 with the 260m GTX @ 1440x900 is the best for future-proofing imo, its a not a very high resolution, you may be able to play Crysis on its higher settings.

All depends on what you want you really need.

Gateway for battery life, compromises hard drive size and speed and overall weight
RBBX05 17" for larger screen and resolution and RAM, compromises hard drive size and overall laptop weight
RBBX09 for larger fast hard drive and smaller screen and lighter weight, compromises resolution

Although, where can you get an NP8662 any more? I don't see them available anywhere. Been replaced by the NP8690, although $300-$400 more expensive. Granted you get an i7 and a GTX 280m, but still is upwards of $2000 for a decently equipped one.
