Hello guys, I have a HP G61-632NR Notebook PC and I bought CODMW2 for it not even thinking about the specifics of my laptop so I have come to the conclusion thaty I need a better video driver. I currently have ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200 graphics with 128MB display and I was looking and found that I would need a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. So what I wanted to know was if my computer could handle that safely and run it efficiently.
Also, Is that all I need to run CODMW2. The game works perfectly it just lags really bad so I think the video driver is the only problem, but please tell me if I need more.

The 128MB video ram might be the problem.
And can you upgrade your laptop to the 9800 GT? I'm surprised HP would use modular video card for the G61. -
Thanks, I know absolutely nothing about laptops as this is my first one. All I know is CODMW2 is awesome and I really want to play it. I was looking on ebay and a lot of the 9800 gt cards said something about coming with a 512 mb display or whatever.

It cannot be upgraded from the HD4200.
For driver upgrades have a look at the following sites:

dang that blows, well I guess the game will be listed for sale.
What games would do good on this computer?
I like the need for speed games
and call of duty -
Hehe, the series you choose usually have the cutting edge graphics for FPS and for Driving.
-
yea thats what sucks, I guess I will just have to settle for less
-
Or get a faster laptop
The 4200 is basically enough to run Aero, Quake 3, and do HD video decoding. Not a whole lot else.
-
not everyone swears by this but to give you an idea what you can play try Can You Run It
-
return ur laptop and get asus G73.. it will run modern warfare 2 on max settings.

Depends what country you're in.

in US , its about $1499 for X1 version... for A1 , which has blue ray , 2X500GB drives , bagpack and mouse , its $1600... in UK , its about 1800 pounds on average on ebay and amazon for A1 version... and seriously , no notebook can give u the price and performance comparison....
