Just Wanted to see what the general consensus on video goggles is.
One particular model specced for gaming:
iWear VR920
Virtual reality becomes, er, a reality
Online gamers will love the VR920s as they have been designed to bring pixellated worlds to life like never before. As well as containing a virtual 62" screen, these incredible plug and play specs allow you to enter virtual worlds and communicate with others as if you're in the thick of the action. An integrated 3 Degree of Freedom (DOF) head-movement tracker and built-in microphone deliver the ultimate interactive online experience. Geeky, maybe; a giant leap for gaming, most definitely!

Anyone have video goggles? 1024x768 and a 62"-like picture sounds pretty decent to me. I might save up for a pair![]()

I remember reading something about the before, but I cant understand how it doesn't screw yours eyes up from being that close :S
EDIT: Would like to try it for myself though... -
I too remember reading something about a similar product before and it DID screw up your eyes. And it was uncomfortable and chunky. I agree with Manic Penguins, a 62" screen @ 1cm away does not sound like a comfortable or useful idea. But that was an old article so open mind, get a few more opinions before you make a decision. Technology moves fast.
Grand Admiral
EDIT: Ok, so they reckon its 62" @ 9 feet. But that still doesn't sound comfortable. -
Man, I really want to try some of these out, but I refuse to order anything online.
If only local stores would carry them... -
It says "Twin high-resolution 640x480 (920,000 pixels) LCD displays"
