My laptop keeps locking up and crashing after gaming for very brief periods(like, less than a minute). I ran WhoCrashed to see what it thought was the culprit, and this is what it says:
"On Mon 8/2/2010 12:18:52 AM your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys

At first I got worried that my GPU(9800m GT) was going, but now I'm not so sure. My temps have rarely ever exceeded °80c under even the most intense loads, I keep my laptop on a cooler, and I frequently blow out the vent.
Another reason I'm not so sure is because while I was using my laptop yesterday, after reading that if you're going to use your machine on A/C power for extended periods of time, you could extend the life of your battery by taking it out, and then when I took it out the power cord had accidentally come out a moment prior so the laptop hard-crashed. Before then, no issues. Since then, issues.
I tried uninstalling the drivers, installing new drivers, reinstalling new drivers(and yes, I know the "proper" way of doing this), all to no avail. I'm on Win7 64-bit.
Anyone have any ideas?![]()
Edit - Also, I've never overclocked it. Still using stock clocks. And if this should be in the Windows forum instead of here, would a mod be so kind as to move it? Thanks.

nvlddmkm stopped responding and has recovered.
good luck. Ive pretty much stopped using my gaming lappy because of it. It never goes away for alot of people so pray one of those works. -
All I can think of is re-installing Windows. Back up your files first of course

Hmmm, not I'm starting to think that maybe my GPU is crapping out on me. Just a bit ago I was just browsing the net when my laptop locked up on me and there were artifacts all over the screen. And I've made such an effort to take care of the darn thing.
*sigh*
Edit - Now I'm getting artifacting on my BIOS during booting as well...I guess that pretty much means that my GPU is for all intents and purposes dead. Right?
*facepalm*
