Im not sure if this is the proper forum, i'll post this here since it's about graphic cards..

I got an Asus M50VM which has an nVidia 9600gs M 1gb. I connected it to a 40' samsung lcd hdtv via HDMI and played a Bluray movie that I downloaded on my laptop. I watched a random part of the movie for a minute (Deathrace) and i noticed horizontal lines flickering in the middle of the screen. This is on the HDTV and not the laptop. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I put the display on 1080p@60 for the tv, not sure what's the best config.

Have you tried putting it lower? Like 24hz or something?

I'd be willing to put money (Not really but take it for emphasis :)) down that you used VLC to play the movie.

Use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema and you won't have that problem.

Eh well depending on the encode and your video settings, clearly something's being interlaced improperly.

Mess around with deinterlacing and see what you can get to display.
