So this game seems pretty nice for a f2p MMO. I love the combat style, but have yet to play it, only watched videos of it.
Anyone got a beta key? It'd be much appreciated![]()
I think when you use your beta key you get two more, so you can give it to people who eventually give it to more people and so on and so forth, maybe we could start an NBR chain of keys!

i created a new account last night and started it up but my crappy laptop didnt like it..i would go to start new game then it would freeze my comp....wasted beta key. if you want the account ill give it to you. everything is fake so if you want it let me know.
i was given a beta key last night when i was watching someone stream it on justin.tv and gave them the 2 new keys. otherwise i would give ya one. -
I've been looking at this game for almost a year now. And now that it's finally arrived, I think I'll keep it away at arms reach.
It looks good and looks fun. Too much fun, I got work to do here! -

oh is this a new mmo? and its free? like you dont have to buy a hard copy of the game or anything before you can play it (with no monthly fees im assuming?)
-
No monthly fees, cash shop-based. It's interesting. The shield lady is definitely hard to get used to. Dungeons are genuinely challenging. Farming is... so god damned boring.

Is it open beta? I'm wondering where you found it.
I've always been a fan of Koei's Warriors games (What? I love the mindless slaying of random Asian mooks) so this looks like it might be fun. -

I snagged a key last night from a chain community, and the game is decent so far. It's a bit buggy, and there's some lag, but I'm sure those will be fixed soon. Combat is nice, hopefully it doesn't kill my mouse if I play too much though

anybody kind enough to share the beta key?
i tried to find one but couldn't get it -
ROFL, friend got me a beta key. Game download was around 2GB.
The game begins with an interactive sequence where your town is being attacked. It's all cinematic with numerous cut scenes. But as you progress you are told how to fight.
The game is a blend of action RPG and MMORPG. So you definitely have that perpetual world and MMO elements. But the fighting style is action, not like a traditional MMO.
Space = Dodge. So if you move backwards and then press space you'll quickly dash backwards. Move left and space, quick dash to the left. This is used in close combat.
Left mouse button is attack. And your character will do numerous combos.
Right mouse button is for special moves. Like a dash stab if you are a few feet away from mob. Or a two handed cross swipe, two swords crossed in front of you and the a sweeping motion outward hitting multiple targets, causing some to be knocked back/knocked down or killed.
Press E and you'll grab a target. Press mouse buttons and you will begin to pummel and knee them.
Press F you'll kick them.
Secondary weapon is a spear. F will throw a spear at a target. Some reason I can carry a dozen spears with me.
So far no dedicated healer. Can use potions to heal. Have something to revive a friendly and have another item to repair armor.
It's a very fast paced action sequence, combat so far.
The Source Engine is working well. Oddly multi-core support is disabled. But this is Closed Open Beta so things can change. But the game looks much better than I thought Source Engine was capable of. Much better than any Valve game I think. Also means your FPS will be about 40% lower with Vindictus than with any other Valve game for example.
Overall I think Vindictus is interesting enough and different enough for some to give it a try. I do not have any beta keys to give away since I already game my two to friends. But if you get one, give it a try.
It's free... what do you have to lose? -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Sorry to necromance the thread, but anyone else besides me playing this? It's already launched.
It'sa pretty good game, considering it's completely free. As of this moment you have three characters to choose from (dual-wielding guy, magical polearm-using chick, and a sword-and-shield girl). Typical RPG elements, with parties, leveling, buying/selling/crafting items, and the like. Combat's fun, especially when you use the grab attack and body slam gnolls into the ground. -
i cant seems to get it working, always unable to contact server when im already sign in on the web..
-
It's a fun game... I started playing it about a week ago.... Of course its got your usual free mmo grind fest...but the twitch style game play is making me not be able to put it down and walk away
-
It's actually pretty good. If you have played Dot Hack before, its exactly like the WORLD R2 tbh. The whole systems character design and combat are just like it.
It is VERY easy in the beginning then it gets very tough later on. I recommend it to anyone really. -

I'm a bit miffed that the weapon/movesets are gender-locked. I want to use a the sword/shield moveset, but that's limited to the girl. I don't feel like falling into another interpretation of the "MMORPG" acronym.
That's not to say the dual-wielding guy isn't awesome. I've just always liked the concept of the sword-shield combo better.
Don't judge me. -
you obviously have a problem forge
-
Man I can't play
Seems it is limited to US and Canada right now?

Man, that sucks. I thought the international version was up and running.
