I'm considering getting Vista Business 64 on my next notebook. Has anyone experienced any compatibility problems with any games? Here's a few that I would want to run:

    Older:
    Deus Ex (1 and 2)
    Command and Conquer: Generals
    Need for Speed 4
    Soldier of Fortune
    Unreal Tournament 2003
SimTower (yes I know it's ancient but it's still fun)

    Newer:
    Quake 4
    Call of Duty 4
    S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Wouldn't run Mortal Kombat Trilogy for me, FFXI Demo Benchmark 1, and Narbacular Drop. Those are 3 that I found that do work in Vista x86 however they are all very old.

Basically any game "Made" for xp should work, applications built around the 16bit based win me/98/95 kernal will NOT run on x64, even with compatability modes enabled.

You might be able to play SimTower on your cellphone :), everything else should work on your laptop, I think.

I am running Vista 64-bit Home Premium. I haven't really had problems running any games. I rememeber I had some issues installing Hitman 2, but I got it to work in a short time. The only problem i had was with iTunes and Rhapsody, but that is because Apple did not support Vista 64 half a year ago. I think you should be fine. :D

From personal experience, DX:IW, STALKER, COD4, and Quake 4 will work. Heads up though, Quake 4 will give you a dire message about some fatal operation or something. You should be able to just ignore it. And COD4, I had an issue with punkbuster for online play. I can't remember how I fixed it, but you can find a fix online. Also, other users never encountered the problem with PB.
