I'm debating whether or not I should keep Vista on this new machine I jsut bought, and one of the deciding factors is it's game compatibility. Can anyone tell me whether it can run the following games?

    1) Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, and CounterStrike: Source
    2) Age of Empires 3
    3) Age of Kings
    4) Empire Earth 2
    5) Diablo II Exp (I want all my games to run! :D)
    6) Ancient World: Sparta

I've read that the first 3 work, but can anyone confirm? Does Vista achieve better gaming performance than XP?

I don't think there is a game that can run on XP that can't run on Vista.

    1) Runs (personally verified)
    2) Runs (personally verified)
    3) Don't know
    4) Don't know (I'd assume yes)
    5) Runs (personally verified, MAY need to use compatibility settings)
    6) Don't know

I've yet to install a game that will not run in Vista. I've installed games ranging from Wolfenstein 3D (which is something like 16 years old) to Planetside to WOW to Starcraft to Supreme Commander to CS:S to Half Life 2 and it all works. If it doesn't work I just try out compatibility modes (XP or 98 modes) and it always works.

As of right now, at least with my current driver revision (163.44), Vista is performing exactly the same as my XP install. I feel that Vista has finally reached a point where widespread acceptance is viable.
