Hello. I cannot change the volume while playing on my Samsung NP300E5A. It happens in any game (Skyrim, Battlefield 1942, NFS, Civ series)

The keys (FN+F6-F7) just go ignored. In my other laptops it does work. Curiously, FN+F2-F3 to change brightness does work.

I'd love to get any suggestions about this.

    Thank you.

Some games lock out certain FN key combinations for whatever reason, and I've never found a solution.

I recall I couldn't change volume in Skyrim while in-game. I don't think I've seen any other game do that though.

It happens to me in almost every game, on both laptops (HP Envy 17 1150 and Samsung NP300E5A). My desktop, which I built with a Logitech Wave keyboard, doesn't have that problem.

Unless you get or create a specific Mod for these games, then you're not going to be able to do anything with many keys
on your keyboard, as they are re-mapped on game start-up, and no longer will work.
Skyrim TES is very famous for this, as the Volume keys, for example, as well as other ones- the Fn keys, too, are basically shut-off at the start of gameplay, and won't work until you exit.

I think only Bethesda gamebryo/creation engine games and one other game had this issue for me.

You can go to the desktop, change volume, then alt-tab back. I've gotten used to just setting volume before I start any of them.

Not sure why they don't fix this it's super annoying. The interesting thing it's only the fn key audio controls that don't work, other things like display brightness do work. They do work fine in nearly all my games so if yours don't work in almost any game that seems like a different problem depending on what those games are.
