Try using 169.04 drivers. They were the first I tried (seems to be the most recommended vrs) and allow me to OC in ATItool and RivaTuner.

Go through this thread to see if there is anything useful.

A little tip: set Crysis settings to all HIGH with the exception of Shader+Shadow Qualities which should be set to LOW. It will run faster than your current settings and will generally look better. The only difference that I see is that the HUD is a little edgy on the sides and the health/armor bar are not as smooth.

Referring to the OC's not sticking, it happened to me as well, instead of resolving it, I'm now running ntune. Even though you need to OC every time you turn it on I don't really mind.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. I tried nTune no luck, wouldn't stick.

But i tried switching to the 169.04 drivers and ran rivatune, it seems to be working so far. On restart the settings were default but I could raise them to 600/450 and they would stick. So, so far so good. Just hoping i dont burn the gpu up. It games about 57C and idles about 47C. But I usually sit it on a table, im gonna invest in a notebook cooler.... On another note is it just me or does vista access the hard drive like all the frickin time?..could be the 5400 rpm HD as well..

But thanks again for the replies.

Those temps are excellent and don't worry about burning the card/laptop I've overclocked to 700/550 on several occasions and the only change was a 3-4C increase in temp (gaming never went above 70C). I'm not saying you should run at higher clocks but the ones you're on now are fine, I personally run at 600/500.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no thermometer on the vram, so it could be frying and the gpu temp would still be low... I have also overclocked my card to 700/550, and that's the only time it froze up, and popped up a message "the graphics adaptor has stopped responding" The temperatures seemed normal though, I never saw it going above 63-64.
