    should Vsync be off while i play or on...? and in what ways does it help me while off or on?

    vsync caps your max frame rate to your refresh rate, it can be good to use it if you get a lot of screen tearing, most lcds are 60hz, meaning they only display 60 fps, if your card is pumping out a few hundred fps, you can get tearing, as it cant keep up with the card

    You can get screen tearing at any decent frame-rate. It's worse in some games than others and on some systems than others. A good way to combat it without turning on Vsync is to lower your mouse sensitivity. Making big fast movements like you can do when u have a high mouse sens makes screen tearing seem much worse. I like to always use vsync if I can enable it without taking a signifigant fps hit.
