VSync should definitely remove tearing, but if the game has a build in VSync tool,it`s better to use that.
Also, some drivers are better than others at handling tearing, try Omega drivers if the latest ATI one is not that good.

Well then, you will have to wait. Although I find it weird that it doesn`t work if forced in the Catalyst Control Centre...

Maybe try setting triple buffering either on or off in the control panel as it affects vsync.

Also updating the game may help :)

On helps performance with VSync on.
I don`t remember how the settings work in the ATI world, I`ll have to check my NX9420`s X1600 and report back.
    But one question.
When forced, do your fps jump over 60 ?

With v-sync on, your FPS should never go over the refresh rate of your screen. For most people these days, that is 60.

Exactly. So if his FPS go over 60, it`s definitely NOT activated.

That's a pretty good guess. :) Sorry, I misunderstood you to be unsure.

my frames dont go over 60 but it still tears a little, very weird, why does omega drivers not have anything for vista and ati cards?
