Best I remember the last game i ran into it with was either Fear or maybe doom 3. And when ur running around like a mad man and at any given time the top 1.4 of the screen doesnt match the bottom somwhere between shifted and or not even the same its a real problem.

If something like that happened in Multiplayer it would also cause deaths. But yeah if your having input issues that would be a problem as well. I cant say ive run into it with say Far Cry 2 or BF Bad Company 2

The one game that has an absolute issue with input lag and vsync is Dead Space. The developers cap the frames at 30, and force inputs to slowdown to such fps. It is a weird, sluggish experience.

And I can't still believe the debate over fps is still going on haha. The myth of 24fps is much harder to kill than any computer virus. I can't even remember how many times I have been in such debates... But at least it is amusing :D

Oh well, I will just drop it, no point in continuing if I am not able to express myself good enough to properly convey the explanation. Cheers!

Maybe the majority should speak for themselves? And maybe it's good you're not a game developer, or I take that back maybe you should become one then, because then you'll shoot for a consistent 60-100 fps, but with the current state of technology you'll have to discard alot of lighting and special effects and cut back on polygon counts, by the millions, and even take us back to the graphics of Virtual fighter 1 or even Battle Zone wire frame graphics, just so our computer can achieve to sustain those kinds of framerates, although we don't need it that high so we don't need to sacrafice DX10 graphics to get something playable and good looking.

Again it's not about maximum framerates, because if you just aim for that, you waste resources, but it's about sustaining a proven, sufficient and playable framerate, without going below it. That's why game developers needed a standard, and experts in the software field came out with a dedicated computer to run games at a consistent 30 fps. These computer consoles have some of the best, most immersive virtual environments ever created because they run at a "locked" 30 fps that never exceeds nor dips below this magic number. These developers are very learned at what they do, they know how to build worlds and what it takes to fool the human senses, one of them being sight. And you think you know better?
