W10 mouse freeze/lag > Intel/Nvidia hybrid graphics drivers ?

Guys, please could you check your system if you face same micro stutter/freeze/pointer lag as shown in video ?
I.E mouse movement freezed for a fraction of time when changing some system settings like mouse disconnected for a moment, then pointer jumping to new position if you moved it menawhile ......

issue observed when :
- dual auto hybrid graphics on (i.e Intel 6700HQ + Quadro M1000M)
- only on Windows 10 (pro) 64 bit, W7 is ok
- i.e changing some system properties , example Eplorer 11 (not EDGE !) home page, when clicking apply
- or when changing mouse setting in Win 10
- lag is visible on NTB with SATA HDD or SSD, very short but still present on super fast M.2 PCIe SSDs

tested and found present on:
- win 10 pro, both 1511 and aniversary update 1607
- clean install w/o drivers and net connection (no auto driver W10 update), with only Intel VGA + Nvidia Driver installed, issue starts right after NV driver installation - I suspected touchpad driver but seems not to be the case
- touchpad and external mouse tested, no difference
- 4 different NV drivers tested , up to 369.09, incl. vendor approved and tested Quadro drivers, no difference
- no influence of power setting

tested hints to remove mouse lag solutions found on internet related to touchpads (delay), realtek audio, etc. no result

issue is gone if you:
- disable dual graphics in BIOS, leave Nvidia only
- uninstall Nvidia driver in Win 10 in device manager, till Win 10 reinstall driver back
- assign program (like MSIE) onto Nvidia GPU instead of auto slection, then freeze is gone for MSIE
- issue not at all present on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS

Can you replicate issue on your setup? If yes, what config is it?

easiest way to check lag - open MS Internet Explorer 11 from Win 10 (not edge), got to setting and change explorer home page, click "use current" lag should occurs when clicking "apply", lag visible every time when doing this 2 steps (both "use current" + "apply")

 

My P157SM-A with Optimus on Windows 10 64-Bit does not do that. I have no stuttering on my system whatsoever and it performs flawlessly.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If this was a wide-spread issue, everyone would get it. As for problems with my system, I honestly haven't really had any.

 

I am having the same issue on a Gigabyte P57w v6 laptop (GTX 1060). No matter what combination of drivers, power management settings, BIOS revisions etc. I use, it still always happens on certain interactions with the OS/UI. I get the 1-2 second freeze when I click on the battery icon or when clicking "Display" in the Windows 10 settings menu. Also LatencyMon gives some pretty bad results leaving it open for 10-15 minutes.

Haven't gotten around to playing any actual games or doing any real GPU intensive activities, kind of wondering if I should return it, or maybe there is some way to just disable Optimus and use strictly the Nvidia GPU?
