Should handle HL2 fine on medium. DOOM3 might only run well on low - the video processor isn't too shabby, and the amount of video RAM is too low for it as well...

Yeah - you won't have any problems with HL2, that's a pretty easy game to handle for a GPU - I had no problem playing it on my old GeForce 4MX 64MB at maximum settings.

But DOOM 3 is another story - you are going to need to keep the resoluion to something like 800x600, and the settings on low - anything higher than low and you're going to run out of video memory, and the game will be jumpy.

Make sure you have the latest Catalyst drivers installed (V5.10) for the best performance. I found that the latest ones provide a sizeable performance increase over the previous 5.8 and 5.9. Get the Mobility Catalyst 5.10 drivers at DriverHeaven.net.

Thanks for the input guys!!!! it really helped out alot. And thanks for the driver update Chaz.
Hmm..since doom3 is such a monster, what upgrade would you recommend?
Seems like you guys were ok with the 256 ddr ram.
So how much vid ram should i upgrade and how much, since this is the main area of concern.

    Thanks again!!

Well, you can't upgrade the amount of video RAM you have, but upgrading your main RAM to 1GB would definitely help. With the new Catalyst drivers, the video card can borrow some of your main memory to use as system memory (HyperMemory), so the more main memory you have, the more the video card can borrow (up to 192MB I believe, so you'll have 64MB + 192). The shared video RAM doesn't help all that much, but it will help the game run smoother - normally, the video card would have to keep caching textures in and out of the hard drive, so using the RAM to do that is much faster, hence why it will run smoother.
