I'm planning to purchsae a W3V...but I was wondering if any of these games will play on the W3V.
    WOW
    Guild Wars
    Pirates
    Rome Total War
Half Life 2 (the full game)
    Doom 3
...also just for a general idea.....
can the w3v do any type of tv recording?
( I apologize if the answers to the questions are obvious)

I dont have a W3V but I looked up the specs. The video card is the same as mine except mine has 128MB. You should be able to play all those games. The only one that might be somewhat slow is D3, and thats just because the shadows and lighting (my x600 doesn't like rendering all the shadows and lighting, major frame rate drop). Anyway, if you could somehow get a gig of ram, you'd be set even better.

hmm...I can understand that all those games CAN be played...but the going into further detail...how well? since the screen will only be 14...resolution can be set low and it should be fine....(i'm assuming) but in reality am I going to see lags? or frame rate problems? etc. etc.

Don't expect too much I would say, the x600 is a afforable GPU and will run thos fine but again, high resolution and good FPS would be pushing it.

    edit: Typos

WOW - shouldn't have any problem putting up the settings - I saw a freind of mine play it on his X600, looked fine to me. ;)

Half Life 2 (the full game) - relitavely easy for any GPU to handle. You should be able to put up the settings on that as well.

Doom 3 - now this is where you will run into probs....I'd say the highest you could go would be low or med settings, and an 800x600 res...

I don't know about the rest of the games, I just posted what I knew!! :p

Wow: I play at 1280x768 (widescreen) with nearly all options on full, 2xAF. Even ironforge is smooth after a few hic-ups when u first walk in. For some reason, AA doesn't seem to work on it, as no matter what setting I use under catalyst 5.8's (5.9's are out btw), it doesn't seem to affect the game at all.

Half Life 2: I play at 1024x768 (widescreen) with most options on medium, some on low, 2xAF, 0xAA. Framerates remain consistant at 40ish with some dips into high to mid 20's in battle intesnive situtations.

Doom3: I tried the demo at 1024x768, couldn't get it playable with low settings, had to drop it down to 800x600 at low. Ran pretty well with those, some hic-ups, but overall smooth.

    I'm using a W3V with 1.5GB of ram running Mobility Catalyst 5.8's
