Hi iv been using my 17inch Toshiba Laptop with the 93.81 Drivers for some time now.. It has an Nvidia Geforce 7600 gpu in it and it was only when I got Crysis that I ran into problems. I realised that I needed a driver update as Crysis ran extremely poor. So I updated to 169.04.. (The Crysis optomised driver). Well Crysis ran PERFECT. Ran everything on medium with decent resolution with the FPS staying around 30..
BUT now the problem was that video wouldnt play back properly on my laptop.. VIdeo was choppy and DVD's wouldnt launch.. So since then iv been messing around with different drivers.. all newer than my old one.. They all have different problems.. Video wont work, old games not so good..Nvidia control panel sections dissappearing, Nview not working...
So basically im asking who here might know of a nice driver that should work well overall like my old driver and still be new enough to play Crysis as well..??
There are so many Nvidia Drivers out there and I dont want to go through them all...! And the worst thing is that Toshiba only has the old 84.00 drivers which are useless!
Thanks for any help guys!

Oh and i need a driver that will overclock with Riva Tuner... 169.04 did but wouldnt do alot of other things..

My dvds are choppy too, and the rayman raving rabbids also.
But I can't play crysis at decent resolution, all medium 30 fps, how you do that?
How much did you overclock your card? -
Try 169.28. Many people seem to be satisfied with this driver.

-
Try Windows Update. They may have newer driver than the one offered from Toshiba website.

ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff
Since you're running XP, try DNA Force 94.24 optimized driver. Works best on my Go 7900 GS.

Yeah the 169.04 Driver imrpoves gameing experience, as did the 169.04.. But what about movie playback etc..?? Coz the 169.04 Drivers messed up my movie/dvd playback...
-
And do 169.28 drivers allow overclocking as the 169.04 ones did...?
-
Forum users have confirmed that 169.28 allows overclocking, however I can't tell you the exact details unless I use the search function.
-
For me the 169.28 did not improve dvd playback, i even got bsods with those.
-
169.28 gave me 10fps in COD4, compared with 169.09 (and a plus of 10ºC in temperature =[ )

I'm actually using the 169.21 because the 169.28 let my system unstable. But my dvd playback is not smooth and neither my tv watching(using the hp tv tuner), although the dvd is not smooth only in a few scenes and in the menus (at least for lord of the rings: the two towers, the aviator, the oc second season, the oc also have no smooth openings)

i´ve got +10fps (40 to 50).
That´s a Vostro 1400 with 8400M GS (GDD3, 128MB), 1Gb of RAM and Vista SP1.
The game specs are: 800x600, 0xAA, everthing low. I did this because i hate to play games below 30fps, it´s just terrible. -
Just wondering what BIOS version your running and what operating system. Thanks

I'd like a fast Aero and gaming expirence....this seems to be lacking lately.

Any Recommend Driver Version for Vista
-
I use 169.09 and I get good gaming performance as well as decent DVD playback. I have not experienced any instability problems with it yet (knock on wood...).
-
I tried 169.28 and it worked fine for me, however I am actually now using 167.58 as it actually is a newer driver, and has been working fine for me for a week. You may want to try that.
-
Could you try to play a video file with Winamp on yours and see if its smooth as that what my problem is... Also when I play video through the internet like Youtube, the playback looks screwed up...
-
Try this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461/en-us worked for me.
