Im trying to decide between the Sager NP5760 (GO 7900GTX) and the Asus V6J (GO 7400)

While this may seem a simple decision, its actually quite hard. I usually play only WOW and Lineage 2 on my current laptop (in sig) and i have to play them at mostly low-med settings. Could i play them on a GO 7400 at max or close? with 40 FPS or more?

Im not sure i want a large 17" screen laptop with a huge graphics card, but the price is only a few hundred more.. I like the sleek, professional look of the asus more, and if it will work for games such as these at mostly high, i may just go with that.

The 7900GTX is a massive 4x the power of the 7400... If gaming is of more importance it can't really be compared, the Sager would obiliterate the Asus.

Perhaps a v6va is more suited to your needs? Its gone down a bit in price now and you'll also get a better screen (IPS) and better graphics than the v6j (I get about 2700 3DMark'05 compared to the 7400GO which scores about 2000 3DMark'05). The v6j has a better cpu in the core duo but if you go for high end pentium-m like 2.13 or above it will perform about the same as core duo 1.83/1.66.

I believe the v6va will easily handle those games you mentioned but not sure about the 7400GO. I only play NFSMW and WC3 on it but in NFSMW its quite a taxing game and I can run it at med resolution and high setting very smoothly. I can run at high resolutions but must lower the settings for it to run smooth.

Also note the v6 series is about 5.5lbs with a fairly light weight power adaptor. The Sager is 9.4lbs with a much bigger heavier adaptor. Does weight matter?

It really depends on your priorities... I hope this helps.

Hmm, that does look like a nice laptop, has the same style and better graphics. Where abouts online would i go to order/configure this laptop? And how well does the mobile stack up to the core duo? I was really interested in the core duo since its all the rage, but graphics are fairly important to me as well.

The core duo is about 10-30% faster than the pentium-m equivalent for single threaded apps (vast majority of software/games) and a much bigger gap in multithreaded applications (very few at the moment, more in the future).

Yes the v6's uses the same chasis. After doing some research into the games you mentioned even the 7400GO shoud be just fast enough for the settings you wanted but it may not have much future proofing in games. I've edited some of the 1st post is weight important?

If you're not in a rush take your time because I'm sure other members will have suggestions too.
