Can somone run world of warcraft on a 8400gs and 8600gt
and give me the frame rate in Shatt and in Stormwind. Shatt seems to even kill my pc frame rate. and in stormwind i get about 50-60 on my pc. Im really stuck on what comp to get.

I know I ran WoW on almost max settings and got great fps. I cant tell you specifics because the latest patch messed it up and I havent logged on since.

Don't worry 8600M GT is way more than enough to handle WoW. I can play wow on medium settings at 30+ fps on a X200M. And the X200M is way way worse than the 8600M GT.

btw don't get the 8400gs if you want the game. 8600M GT is much better for gaming. I'm sure the 8400GS Can play WoW but 8600M GT will yield much better results.

It depends on the amount of gaming you want to do. The 8400M gs CAN game, just maybe not on as high of settings as the 8600M GT.

If size isn't an issue for you though, get the most powerful card

WoW plays fine (30+fps) on an ATI 9800 pro (ancient card) with an ancient processor behind it.

Why would a recent laptop with a recent (8x00) series card have any issues at all?

Plays fine on the laptop below (8700GT) maxed out.

I get around 15-20fps during heavy stuff which is by all means not that great but is definitely workable. Raiding I get around 15-30fps. The Main cities I get a good fps as well on my ATI mobility radeon 9200 64mb. With pentium M 1.86ghz. But yeah WoW will run great even on the oldest cards.

My computer ran it Maxed out, and 30+FPS, Blizzard is very forgiving when it comes to graphics. Anything will run that game fine. But i havent played that game in God knows how long, so some patches may have made the game more intensive, or less, i cant tell you either way. But those cards will run it fine.

WoW was coded to run on an apple IIe for world domination of the MMO market. Hence the Dragon Slayer cartoon graphics in lieu of reality graphics.

Worry about Crysis, Age of Conan and other future DX10 titles.

Eh... original WoW ran fine even on a x200. But with all these crazy expansions, my FPS took a very noticeable hit in the Outlands with the nVidia 6100, bringing it to nearly unplayable.

    JJEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNKKKKKIIIIIIIINNSSSSSSS

    Had to say it too.
But just so I don't get kicked out, if you like to game with good settings and not be troubled by bothersome lag or inconistent graphics don't even think about the 8400GS. But if you don't mined lowering down the quality then you are just fine with the 8400GS.
