Raise your hand if you ever played and enjoyed any of the following.

    Rock & Roll Racing
    Mario Kart
    Wipeout
    Hydro Thunder

Pretty sure anybody here is going to have there hand up :D

The thing all these games have in common is they are part of the race & destroy genre. It's a guilty pleasure of mine and a great genre to play when you just want to have fun with friends or kick back for a bit.

Imagine what it would be like if you took from the track and went to the sky?

    That would be SkyDrift :D

I just picked it up as its only $10 on Steam and also has a demo for play.

    SkyDrift on Steam

I will be spending the better part of today to run the game though its paces and give you guys my thoughts/opinions of the game in a little mini review.

Some of the video reminds me of Dogfighter, which is more like the arena levels of Mario Kart, but in the sky ;) Also has a demo, but I've got SkyDrift on my list now.

Never heard of Rock & Roll Racing, but I have played and enjoyed the rest.

I should give this a go then.

I like Dogfighter. It's more of a free roam deathmatch type game though. This one looks pretty good for some organized racing and killing.

Just downloaded the demo. It reminds me of pod racing with planes, lol. Using keyboard, probably do better with gamepad, but just hate gamepads with a passion. I can never do well with them.

Yeah I was telling HT at first it reminded me of Dogfighter as well. A game both of us had planned to play together but just never really got much a chance (Its hard w/ kids and different schedules)

Rock & Roll Racing is an old school SNES game that I loved :D

Someone should point this toward the unreleased jewel of Propeller Arena on Dreamcast.
Well actually it has been released on the underground since the game was canned before shipping to retails.
SkyDrift reminds me alot of it.

Reminds me of an arcade game I used to pour quarters into on the ferry between Long Island and Connecticut, Vapor TRX.

Looks like Diddy-Kong racing (for the N64) without the cartoony feel :p. That game featured karts, hovercrafts, and solo planes for most maps with race/destroy tactics.

I liked dogfighter(xbox 360 controller support FTW), but his game reminds me more of Plane Crazy(part of the reason why I bought dogfighter)

You're not going to start titling all of your video reviews/playthroughs "WTH is..." now are you?

I dunno :D just being creative. I honestly couldn't think of a good thread name.

I got some play time in today, not as much as I wanted. Game is fun, but definitely better w/ a controller. I don't know that I would enjoy it as much w/ keyboard.

I need to unlock some more things. Graphics are over the top good for a game of this caliber and stage design is great.

Will need more time in with it to give good thoughts & opinions.

Total Biscuit does his "WT(f) is" series. Just thought you ought to know in case you try to adopt it, some people may not like that. (parenthesis are for the filter...)

Yeah so? Mine would be WTH thus different.

Its not like in the review/commentary business we don't take ideas from each other all the time and reuse them. Same goes for movies, music, or any other form of entertainment.

lol its catchy, but only current viewers would know what that is.

wth is an established way of saying "what is" same for TB's version, its not like he created it he is just using it.
