i am thinking of purchasing a dell vostro 1500 with these specs:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) \
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600M GT

i have heard that this set up will allow me to play pretty much any game on the market right now at highest settings. im kinda confused about screen resolution though. ive heard some people say it is better to stick with the wxga because most games work best in that resolution.

    any advice? thanks.

I you will mainly be using it for general stuff, go for WXGA+. If you are using it mainly for gaming, get WXGA, as it will allow games to be run on higher settings at the native res, so they will look better.
