I want some screenshots of games running from the X3100 graphics card as i am deciding whether to get this in my new laptop or not.

Can someone please post up screenshots of games that are running from the X3100 or post a link where i can find this?

    Thx

Screenshots probably wont help you much as any computer can get good screen shots. Average FPS and resolution/detail settings would probably be more helpful.

The X3100 is not a gaming card, it will play games, but not very well.

I have an Intel X3100 in my notebook. I'll load up a game or two and see how it does.

I took that quote from this article: http://www.tech.co.uk/computing/upg...a/graphics-cards/other/review/intel-gma-x3100

This should give you an idea as to it's capabilities.

Chaz had a thread with screenshots on the X3100. You should have found it if you had searched.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=148045&page=13

There HL2 and CSS ones on the first page and World in Conflict ones on the last page. There may also be some in between. Make sure you are using the newest drivers since there have been improvements in the last month after enabling of hardware DX9.0c support. Latest are 15.6 for Vista and 14.31.1 for XP which seems to have included a major bug fix over the original 14.31 where the hardware/software shader toggle wasn't responding properly. There was a link on page 13 with a link to the VR-Zone forum which provides fps rates for a whole bunch of games.

Well, Chaz apparently forgot he's already done this before. So I can't really say much about using search.

That's no better than the other review sites, in fact it seems actually worse, quoting it has 128 shaders(this figure was from Intel presentation that it can scale to 128 shaders), when it actually has 8.

I can also tell you it performs significantly better than that with Half Life 2 frame rates getting twice what the review site got. Haven't tested Doom 3 but I doubt I would get that bad.

Problem with referring to other "can my laptop run this" thread or "official laptop xxxx" thread, etc is that there's like 50 pages of stuff and can take forever (literally hours) to read through every useful and useless post to really make heads or tails of what's there.

Perhaps new dedicated sections for Intel integrated graphics, nVidia dedicated graphics, and ATI dedicated graphics sections would be more useful.

You can search within the thread. Try Searching for screen caps, detail level, resolution, frames per second or such.

    Or try this thread.

You're welcome to make your own post in that thread. My quip is with people making a million individual "can this run that" threads.
