I played a game about a year and a half=maybe 2 years ago. Can't remember which one it was. But what I remember is that some of it was on American soil-seems like against the Russians. I remember making my way through a suburb that had road blocks and homes. Had to be CoD or MoH-right? Or was it someting else??? Anybody know what I'm talking about???
I didn't have the DVD-Just a DL of it and my HDD crashed a looooong time ago. Just remembered this game and want to play it again.

    Check!
    and Check!
Never played it. Looks somewhat like Command and Conquer-Which I think is the best RTS-Scratch that-BEST game ever. Anything like that? Any good?
Never heard of it. Any good? I'll look em up!

pmassey needed help figuring out the game's name. That's all. Now he just needs to get on Steam to play it.

    Ah, alright!

Though, don't get MW2. Get BF3. The next FPS king. Believe me, it's worth every penny... ;)

He says he already had a direct download of it, meaning he bought it from someplace like Steam or D2D (unless he pirated it). Not to mention Battlefield 3 isn't going to be out for several more months, and it's not the game he was asking about.

But that's illegal. I did have a disk when it first came out. Got it from a friend. Had to DL a key for it. That said, I never play anything online. But I did order World in Conflict and Shattered Union on Steam while ago. Haven't played, but they look fun. 'Specially WiC.

WiC? Its loads of fun, I do enjoy the campaign, it took me some good 20h to finish it in the very hard, it gets frustrating sometimes at this difficulty, specially the last mission which I had to restart several times.

For your own benefit do the secondary missions its worth it

I will. Done ordered. Thanks for the recommendations too guys/(gals). I love FPS's and a lot of RTS's (Command and Conquer-as mentioned earlier-One of my favorites). Never really got into Civilization or Total War series. Any more ideas on good games while we're at it?

Maybe it was Freedom Fighters - squad-based combat in NYC played from a third-person perspective. I remember playing through that a few years ago, and it was really fun.

If you haven't gotten MW2 yet, get it. It's extremely fun and I will never play a game as good... BFBC2, BLOPs, CoD 4, all great games, but can't match up to the level of polish and fast paced action of MW2. I don't understand why there's so much hate, but it's just a really fun game IMO.

MW2 is nowhere near the level of Call of Duty 4. MW2's multiplayer is probably the most frustrating video gaming experience I have ever had, infested with tubers, G18 akimbo noobs, QS'er noobs, guys who run around with nothing but Stopping Power and a UMP45, and the commandos who do laps of the map at precisely the speed of light and somehow teleport their knife lunge 50 feet.

You do NOT want to play MW2.

Agree. From what I remember, I loved it.
    I will check it out.
I NEVER play online bc I hate cheaters. Too much of it. So I just stick to the campaigns and have as much fun as I can. Beat it-up the level of difficulty and do it again.

If campaign is all you care about, then MW2 is pretty good; the multiplayer definitely lacks polish and has plenty of balance issues, but the campaign is pretty cinematic and enjoyable. You'll definitely want to play the CoD4:MW campaign first if you haven't, though.

That said, the fact that it's still the full $60 price it's been since release day in freaking 2009 is just hilarious.

Well to start with MW2 was a failure because of the bugs that took so god damn long for infinity ward to fix, second there was an incredible number of noob tubers and people using commando pro and non then least one man army.... you couldent go a minute without getting blown to pieces or getting stabbed.... those things REALLY ruined the game. but if they would actually have removed those things i would agree then the game would have been up in the league with CoD 4
Edit: well i formulated myself wrong, the game wasn't a failure since it sold a ton of copies, but the multiplayer was broken...

What do you mean 'polish'? I mean sure, some scenes in MW2 were great, but as a game, it barely stood up to mw1 - where you had epic missions like that sniper in chernobyl. MW2 hardly had any missions that really stood out, and it was essentially the same thing again and again - they didn't even differentiate the spec ops missions from the more mainstream army ones like mw1, or even medal of honor!

It was really frustrating to see you continually led down a path instead of being able to choose and the story ended virtually mid sentence!

MW2 was a good game, but hardly stands up to others in the SP or MP department, especially classics like jedi knight 2 + 3, half life 2 etc

MW2 wasn't a game. It was just a movie with scripted action scenes in between the cut scenes. Nothing in the game is dynamic, the entire thing is scripted. So much so, you can't even kill some things because the game won't let you until the dude fulfills the script.

All CoDs are scripted, even from the start. BF3 will be a CoD clone, becuz DICE wantz moneyzzz. It won't have bots because I never play multiplayer on Xbox Live nor PC, so multiplayer is a useless. The singleplayer is going to be dumbed down because most people skip it and go straight to multiplayer :( . However the physics n the game are awesome, they also said there will be natural disasters (earthquakes) . The sandbox they kiss and are so proud of is highly bogus, in BFBC1 on my Xbox 360 I could drill down a whole 2x2 square wall down by hitting the middle with a tiny vehicle drill. I hope they fix it in BF3 with the new frostbite engine they created and they didn't implement it on the PS3 and Xbox 360 version which is bad since my PC can't run BFBC2 so it won't run BF3 so I need the console crappy version of it :p . They also said no mod tools confirmed. This game will be equal to homefront ._.

ALL FPS games are scripted to a degree. I'm playing Homefront right now and like someone said-you can't shoot or kill until the script is fulfilled. No biggie for me unless it's like Test Drive 2 Unlimited. The cut scenes last Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Made me quit playing 10 minutes in.
