So in one of the early missions, I had to plant explosives on a tank. But then the tank suddenly took off. It started going straight forward. So I was running after a friggin tank, with all sorts of enemies shooting at me. Yet somehow they kept hitting the tank and I survived....

That's why FPS games are completely unrealistic. In real life, if you take a hit, you'd be down. In an FPS, you can take a few bullets and still be at 50% HP.

Then again it wouldn't be fun if you died after someone hit you only once, would it?

No one mention anything about me chasing a tank, and using the tank as a shield?

They couldn't hit me because of the huge ass tank. When I got to a corner, I put the bomb on and jumped in the corner, away from gunfire...

There are realistic shooters out there, operation flashpoint in one.
bf2 with the project reality mod is another.
I hear ArmA is also very realistic.
